Victory!!!
Purdue beat #11 Wisconsin and we were lucky enough to see it!!!!! I was nervous the whole game that we would play so hard and then lose by one or two, but they pulled through! I have no pictures to post, but I will leave you with snippets from the woman sitting next to me. Although very nice and chatty, this woman was quite the yeller...which seems to be the person I sit next to all the time. That's probably to keep me from being a yeller. I don't want to be THAT lady.
"TTEEEEERRREENCE!!!" (Her favorite is Terrence Crump, and she let us know about it.)

Going into Hibernation
Hello all, and Happy Wednesday! I don't have much to post about but thought I would do it anyway. We haven't done much lately - I am beginning to liken myself to a slow, sloth-like animal. I spent most of the weekend locked away studying, so I appreciate friends and family having patience with my inability to return phone calls and not erasing my name from their cell phones. Okay, I won't kid myself...but to the one person who is waiting for a phone call - Thanks for letting me study! I took Reg on Monday during my MLK Day holiday (I'm not complaining) and it went okay. It was definitely better than last time but it might not have been a 75. I can always try, try again!
So I never really did a New Year's Resolutions post, but you know I have some. Here is what I would like to accomplish in 2008:
1.) Lose weight (about the 18th consecutive appearance on the list, and counting)
2.) Pass the CPA exam for the LOVE OF GOD! (i'm not even trying to be funny)
3.) Finish painting the upstairs
4.) Read one book a month for fun
5.) Become more involved at North Church
6.) Join a not-for-profit board
7.) Run the entire mini marathon in under 2 hours and 30 minutes
8.) Save money for Europe 2009! (And convince my husband that he's dying to go to Europe!)
9.) Become the master of my sewing machine
There are more unattainable goals on this list, but I don't want to bore you.
I kind of like the idea of not sharing your resolutions until about a month into the year. That way you've had time to wipe the really outrageous ones out of your mind for good, since you've already broken them.
What are some things that you would like to accomplish in 2008, or in your life?
P.S. - One more for me - I would like to sip a mint julip at the Kentucky Derby wearing a fabulous hat.
I leave you with some pictures from a Jan Term trip I took in 2004 to six European countries...thanks Mom and Dad!

New Hair
I now have bangs. Okay, very long bangs, but it took me a long time to work up to this. The last time I had bangs was in fifth grade and I convinced Dad to let me get a very unfortunate haircut when Mom was out of town for the weekend. Whoops. I paid for that one...by having very stupid, springy bangs!
This time it turned out much better. I feel like a new woman. And the good news: I know how to use a straightener and blow dryer to control those bangs...which is the difference between now and 10 year-old Lindsey.
Editor's Note: I realize in these pictures that it looks like I'm lying about the bangs. They're there...trust me, conservative as they are.

Whoa...Already Behind!
Here are pictures from the rest of our Christmas holiday and New Year's. We spent the weekend before New Year's in Kendallville and celebrated Christmas (and lived the dream) with Bob and Big Lou. We left with promises of creative projects and clean teeth loaded up in the car: Brent got a Sonicare toothbrush, I got a sewing machine, and we both got a jigsaw (to make the next cornhole set).
We spent New Year's Eve with Justin and Rachel at Mitchell's Fish Market in Clay Terrace. We had never eaten there but it's a favorite of the Sinders'. We enjoyed a relaxing dinner and then went back to the Sinders' to watch the ball drop. Is it just me, or does Dick Clark's Rockin' New Year's Eve seem....not rockin'? Anyway, we had the best New Year's Eve since we've been together, so 2008 is looking good!
Meeting the girls at Casa on the way out of town
Homemade Saki Bombers while waiting on Dick Clark to spit out the countdown (just kidding...nothin but love, Dick...)
The counters are hard on the hands!
Editor's Note: Yes Rachel, you make a good point. Turned out Brent did NOT enjoy the picture of himself passed out on the couch. I am officially the Wife of the Year. Whoops...sorry, Brent. :(

Drew's Wedding
Here are some photos from Drew's wedding. Everything was lovely: the church decorated for Christmas, the reception hall, and especially the bride. Drew was stunning in her dress and looked like a real queen coming down the stairs at the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum in her fur wrap. (that picture isn't very good...maybe a flash might have helped!)

Christmas catch-up blog:
On Sunday morning (the 23rd) Brent and I continued our marathon Christmas and loaded up the car again - destination: Knoxville, Tennessee. We visited Offbeat America along the way, stopping in Metropolis, IL to see the giant Superman statue and dining at the famous Patti's 1880 Settlement near Paducah, KY.
The best part about Patti's is that they bake their bread in flower pots and serve it with strawberry butter. Another great part is that it is officially in the South, which means that Sweet Tea flows like water. Mmmm-mmmmm.
We opened gifts on Christmas Eve day, ate lunch at Connor's Steakhouse, and then loaded up the car again for the final time. I was bound and determined to make it home for our Christmas Eve service at church, and that we did. In fact, we were an hour early because I got the time wrong. Whooops...sorry, Brent. The church was packed and the service was so nice. I loved seeing 700+ cnadles lit around me at the end while we sang Silent Night. The moment the clock strikes midnight while our candles are lit is always the one moment when I know it's Christmas. I have loved the midnight Christmas Eve service since I was a little girl and probably always will.

We drove down to Monument Circle during our hour wait for church
Brent and I opened our gifts on Christmas morning and shared a quiet first Christmas together at home. Santa was good to us this year as usual! We are lucky!
