18 Weeks
How far along: 18 weeks, 1 day
Total weight gain: Half a pound. I'm strangely satisfied.
Maternity clothes: None, but some tops are getting too short and it takes a lot of self control to keep from walking around with my pants unbuttoned all day. I'm going shopping this weekend.
Feeling: Great! However, I did notice on Monday at about mile 2.5 that running may or may not be in my future for much longer. Holy uterus pain, Batman.
Sleep: Great! No complaints.
Food cravings or aversions: 2011 is the Year of the Potato.
Best moment of the week: I felt the baby move right after I posted my last update (so 16 weeks 4 days, if I'm keeping track). I've noticed the flutters at night, but today was the first time I could feel it during the day. No identifiable movements, just weird bubbly flutters that almost tickle.
Movement: See above.
Gender: Chinese gender charts say girl...which I'm sure is accurate.
Labor Signs: n/a
What I miss: I probably shouldn't say beer two updates in a row. So...sleeping on my stomach.
What I'm nervous about: Nothing really.
What I'm looking forward to: Our ultrasound in fifteen more days!
Milestones and new this week: Baby is the size of a bell pepper and is flexing its arms and legs.

Happy Easter!
Happy Easter, blog friends! We stayed here in Colorado for the holiday since I pretty much just got here. I was sad to not be with my family for the first time ever, but the day was still pretty nice, even with the cold, yucky rain.
The Easter Bunny still found us this week...
And Brent colored Easter eggs with me last night....
We visited a church downtown that is very similar to our church back home. It was a very nice service, complete with the Hallulejah Chorus and a great sermon. Here's our 2011 Easter picture, taken on our little patio at the apartment.
The cheesy potatoes were excellent, the key lime pie superb, and the Honeybaked Ham did not disappoint. The Melt in Your Mouth yeast rolls did not rise, again...but that's okay, because Christ did. Today I had to remind myself that even though I'm far away from my family and friends, and I can't watch TV in my own apartment this evening because the neighbor's bass is so loud it's shaking the room, all of these little annoyances are just temporary. There's a problem-free life waiting for us eventually, all because we have a Savior who gave everything for us to have it. Pretty awesome!

16 Weeks
Alright, I'm joining the bandwagon and putting up the classic pregnancy checklist so I can remember later how I was doing at 16 weeks. And I must say, I barely even know the Lima Bean's there! I love the 2nd trimester.
How far along: 16 weeks, 3 days
Total weight gain: Thankfully, none. I'm still down a few pounds from pre-preg weight.
Maternity clothes: None. I have some pants ready to go when the day comes. I have graduated to buttoning my jeans using the hair elastic trick, so that's something.
Feeling: Great! I really do forget that I'm pregnant.
Sleep: Great! No changes there either. I do sometimes have trouble falling asleep, but that's more because the dog upstairs won't.stop.barking. I forgot how much I missed apartment living.
Food cravings or aversions: Still anything potato. French fries, baked potatoes, McD's hashbrowns, etc - I'll take them in any form. This week I swung through the Arby's drive-thru for a 4:00 p.m. roast beef sandwich. I saw the sign and couldn't stop the car from swerving in.
Best moment of the week: Hearing the heartbeat at our appointment on Tuesday. 150 beats per minute!
Movement: Nada. Hopefully soon.
Gender: Beats me! What do you think?
Labor Signs: n/a
What I miss: Beer. I'm headed to the Rockies/Cubs game in about 3 minutes and it will be hard to sit where the Coors flows like water.
What I'm nervous about: Not knowing where we'll be living when the baby's born and moving in August when I'm pretty pregnant.
What I am looking forward to: Ordering the baby's dresser this week (mainly because we don't have a dresser and I figure we need this anyway - might as well use it until September) and registering in the next few weeks.
Milestones and new this week: The baby and I have been busy growing his/her toenails this week and getting eyes and ears in the final position. Lima Bean is not so little anymore - he/she is the size of an avacado.
Okay, probably not the most accurate belly shot, but I thought it was slimming so I'm keeping it. I have the hardest time getting a good angle for these.

Tuesdays with Rachel
Since the week after Brent moved in late January, Rachel and I have been getting together once a week for dinner and weeknight tv. After a couple of weeks, the night was set for Tuesdays indefinitely so we could watch Glee. We've been alternating houses and bringing our little dog friends along. (One of the dog friends had to start wearing a doggie diaper while visiting after one horrible instance of couch peeing. Said dog friend shall remain nameless.)
...along with a chair collapsing, lots of dog antics, etc....
Wacky highlights:
Flaming tot!

The last Tuesday with Rachel is tomorrow. :( Thanks for keeping me company and giving me something fun to do each week, Rach!! I will really miss it...and you!
