New Lungs for Tricia!

Tricia may be getting a new set of lungs in the next few hours. Please check out her blog link on the right (Confessions of a CF Husband) and pray for her tonight before you go to bed!

Brent's 7 Things...

I totally left my husband out of my 7 things post. And now I feel selfish, and bad. Here are Brent's 3.5 things...(he would only agree to half...)

1. It's no secret that Brent loves Purdue. Brent loves ALL sports and watches them obsessively. His football teams: football- Purdue and the Colts, basketball - Purdue, baseball - the Cubs, golf - Tiger (but he likes Phil too). This pretty much provides him with something to watch the whole year.

2. Brent has incredibly high tolerance for my Velveteen rabbit that still sleeps with me/us at night. There, I guess that's a weird thing about me, too.

3. Brent loves history and geography. When these categories come up on Jeopardy, watch out!

3.5. He could eat a Subway sandwich every meal of the day. He has eaten this for both lunch and dinner more times than I care to admit, as his wife. I need to cook more for this poor man! If he gets a Club for lunch, he'll get Chicken Teriyaki for dinner to mix things up.

Seven Things...

YES!!!! We've finally been tagged to share 7 things. Thanks, Jill...I've been hoping this day would come!

The Rules: Link to your tagger and post these 3 rules on your blog

* Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.
* Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.
* Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

1. I love peanut butter spread on a slice of Kraft cheese, folded into a sandwich. I also love putting chips on sandwiches and scooping up macaroni and cheese with chips. For these reasons I cannot have chips in the house at any time, or Kraft processed cheese, because I would weigh 300 pounds.

2. I have never been crazy about anything that the majority of people love, have or do. These things include Willow Tree angels (although yes, I do have the nativity and I do like it), Vera Bradley purses, Thomas Kinkade, outlet malls, chain restaurants, etc. Most people think this is snobby. Maybe it is, but I ask that you love me anyway and know that I'm not pooh-poohing you even if you like these things. Just don't make me like them. I just can't get crazy about something once everyone has it or loves it. It's pretty much caused by Wal-Mart. If I like something and Wal-Mart gets ahold of it and makes a cheap-o knockoff version, forget about it.

3. I have never seen any of the Godfather movies. I also haven't seen Rocky, Rambo, any of the Die Hard series or the Bourne series. The list goes on and on...in fact, I've never seen Old School in its entirety. Or Superbad. When I tell people this I think they wonder where I've been all my life. I'd like to say reading books and pondering spiritual matters, but most likely I've been looking at blogs.

4. I am a recycling NUT!! I've always recycled, but it has intensified over the last year. I have been known to save mounds of bubble wrap from being thrown away at a work conference and I diligently look for the triangle on each and every plastic bag or container that crosses my path. I'm so disappointed when I don't see the triangle and number. If anyone needs to get rid of some phonebooks, let me know because I know where you can take them and need to make a trip soon, myself. I'll take them for you!

5. I love making lists of everything I have to do and then losing the list an hour later. Making a list is my solution to boredom in my MBA classes or in training sessions at work. I don't really intend to cross everything off the list, I just like to make one. Maybe to stress myself out...?

6. I am caught between wanting a big-time career and staying at home with 4 kids. Pretty much two ends of the spectrum there, and I see advantages to both.

7. "See advantages to both..."
This pretty much sums me up. I'm a Gemini. You know, the twins? I'm fickle. It's that two personality thing, I think. I can usually see two sides to an issue and have a hard time sticking to an opinion. I can be overly dramatic but then the next day I'm pretty much over it. I am chatty and a fast friend, I think, and love lots and lots going on around me at all times. But I also like to stay home and not talk to anyone. It's very hard for me to figure myself out!

I am tagging....Big Lou, Lori, Megan, Rachel, Lauren, Ashley Baker, and Leslie

Basketball Buddies...

I need to get back to the Purdue game, but I wanted to post and say that Brent just called from the game in D.C. and said that he and his dad are sitting by none other than....

Tim Russert. I LOVE TIM RUSSERT! I'm going to watch Meet the Press tomorrow and see if he makes mention of any crazed Purdue fans. Tim and his son are West Virginia fans. As if I wasn't jealous enough that I didn't get to go to D.C. this week with my husband!

Big Give's Big Disappointment...

You Big Give fans out there are probably as disappointed as I am after tonight's show. How B-Star Rachael got a ticket and not Carlana is beyond me, but I think another viewer best sums it up on the show's blog...

"Your judges have sawdust for brains."

(Editor's Note: I really don't read show blogs very often, I promise. Seriously.)

Eggcellent

This is not my weekly/biweekly post, but I wanted to let you know that I just devoured a Reese's peanut butter egg, and it was the most delightful 180 calories and 11 grams of fat I've consumed...today. These are my #2 favorite thing about Easter, after the Risen Lord, of course.

Lunch Dates with Bob

Two visits from Bob in one week's time? Now that's what I call lucky! Not long ago, Dad was visiting a new client in Indy and he stopped by for lunch and to bring us his extra chainsaw. We had a fallen tree in the backyard that had needed some attention for about two weeks, so it was time to cut it up. We all took turns hacking at it - which was really fun! I can't wait until Dad brings down his tree wedges and we go to town on some other dead trees in the yard! Seriously, can you tell what a slow winter it has been for me?

The other visit from Bob was when he and Grandma and Grandpa were on their way to Florida. Dad rode down there with them and then flew home. We met them at the Cracker Barrel in Greenwood on their way out of town. I did not take any pictures, because how many pictures do you need taken inside a Cracker Barrel?
